Our preparations for the New Year, physically and spiritually, begin today and we offer you some insights and a resource as turn your attention toward self-reflection and growth.
You may have heard the parable shared by the great writer S.Y. Agnon. He tells a tale of a man wandering in a forest for several days utterly lost. Another man approaches and their hearts are filled with joy in their discovery. "Now I will certainly find the right way," the first man thought to himself. He then asked, "Brother, I have been wandering about in this forest for days. Can you tell me which is the right way out?" "My brother," the other replied, "I do not know the right way out either. But, this I can tell you; do not go the way that I went, for it will surely lead you astray. Come let us look for the way together."
Come let us journey together toward the High Holy Days. Our way begins by taking a few moments each day to focus our thoughts to moments of personal awe and communal joy. To guide us and inspire us along the way, we are grateful for Craig Taubman's Jewel's of Elul to offer daily insight and opportunities for discussion. Please take a moment and sign up for the daily postings.
